Staff SkyDive for our Charity…

Last year we named Niamh Henry’s Fairy Wish Fund as our Charity of the Year.

Since then many of our staff have been organising their own events so they can help raise money for the charity.

We wanted to say a huge “Good Luck!” and “Don’t look down!” to our Restaurant Manager Manfred Seibert, and also to our Head of Housekeeping Kay Blanchard.

Kay and Manfred will do a charity skydive tomorrow morning at 8.30am at Beccles Airfield with UK Parachuting

The pair have raised a huge amount of money which will be confirmed tomorrow with a final count.

Kay said “I am very scared!! But it’s something I have always wanted to do and having this charity to support seems a great reason to do it now”

We will have all of their photos tomorrow so we will be sure to put them online.

From all of us at the Hotel and Spa, we just wanted to say we are very proud of you both and cannot wait to hear about your skydiving experience!

About the Charity…

Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa has announced its charity of the year for 2016/2017 as the Cambridgeshire-based Niamh Henry’s Fairy Wish Fund, which was set up in memory of Niamh Henry who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer which affects the kidney in January 2008 and who sadly passed away, aged four, in January 2009.

Niamh Henry’s Fairy Wish Fund raises money for C2, the children’s cancer unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, the children’s Rainbow Ward at the West Suffolk Hospital, the paediatric counselling services at Addenbrooke’s, and Stars, which is a community based counselling service in Cambridge for bereaved children. The Hotel staff will take part in a range of fundraising activities and organise their own events to raise awareness and funds.

Noel Byrne, Chief Executive at Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa, commented: “The Niamh Henry’s Fairy Wish Fund is a fantastic charitable organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of children with cancer and their families across West Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
